AERVI™ Air & Surface Decontamination System
Safer spaces. Scientifically engineered.
AERVI™ is engineered to provide continuous air and surface protection against unseen contaminants and to support safer indoor environments 24 hours a day. The system is designed as an additional layer of indoor environmental protection that works alongside HVAC and routine cleaning systems.
Overview
AERVI uses integrated technologies intended to continuously reduce airborne and surface microorganisms, lower bioburden and enhance indoor air quality. The unit is designed to operate continuously and repeatedly treat air as it circulates through the device.
- Designed for continuous 24/7 operation.
- CARB approved according to current manufacturer materials.
- Coverage up to approximately 430 square feet per applicable unit.
- Standard 12-month manufacturer warranty.
- Annual lamp replacement.
- Designed as a supplemental layer to HVAC and routine cleaning systems.
How AERVI™ Technology Works
Bioburden reduction
AERVI combines engineered technologies intended to continuously reduce microorganisms in indoor air and on surfaces. The system provides ongoing treatment rather than a one-time room sanitizing event.
Germicidal UV
Air is drawn through an internal treatment chamber and passes the UV lamp. Current manufacturer information describes dual-waveband UV at 254 nm and 185 nm together with nano-coated catalytic plates. The germicidal UV stage is designed to inactivate microorganisms within the treatment chamber.
Titanium dioxide catalyst and reactive radicals
UV energy activates specially engineered titanium dioxide coated catalytic components inside the unit. This process creates highly reactive species intended to oxidize pollutants and damage microbial particles. Air receives additional treatment each time it circulates through the unit.
Features & Benefits

Testing and Research
Continuous Testing Program
AERVI technology is supported by an ongoing program of efficacy testing. Manufacturer materials identify Porton Down (UK Health Security Agency), Leeds University, SGS Laboratories, North American Science Associates (NAMSA), ALS Laboratories and Campden BRI among the laboratories and research organizations that have tested the technology.
During 2026, additional independent testing is underway in the United States, including work by Onsite LLC, in-situ testing at a public Midwestern medical institution and another major U.S. medical institution, and testing with the University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB). The purpose of this work is to scientifically validate AERVI's ability to reduce bioburden in indoor spaces during continuous 24/7 operation.
Safety
AERVI is designed for continuous operation in appropriate occupied indoor environments, with the UV source contained within the unit. Current manufacturer materials contain inconsistent wording regarding ozone, so the Tim O'Neil & Associates page should not make a definitive ozone claim until the current specification is confirmed.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is AERVI™ CARB approved?
Yes. Current manufacturer information identifies AERVI as equipment approved by the California Air Resources Board.
How is AERVI different from conventional air-cleaning products?
AERVI combines multiple treatment technologies with continuous operation. Air receives additional treatment each time it circulates through the unit.
What evidence supports the technology?
The manufacturer reports a rolling program of independent research and references work with multiple laboratories and research organizations.
Should AERVI be switched off when a space is unoccupied?
No. Continuous operation is recommended so the system can continue treating air around the clock.
How much electricity does AERVI use?
Current FAQ information describes power use at around 20 watts and estimates annual electricity cost from approximately $20 per year. Actual cost depends on the applicable model, local utility rates and operating conditions.
How does continuous treatment compare with periodic fogging?
Periodic fogging is an intermittent process that must be repeated and may require an area to be unoccupied during treatment. AERVI is intended to provide an ongoing treatment layer during normal occupancy.
Can AERVI be used around children and vulnerable adults?
The technology is designed for appropriate occupied locations when correctly installed and used as directed.
How can I tell the unit is operating?
When the unit is powered, a blue glow is visible through the lens. Manufacturer information explains that the visible blue light is not UV light.
Is the visible blue light harmful to the eyes?
The visible glow is described as ordinary visible light rather than UV light.
Are AERVI units currently in use?
Yes. Manufacturer information references installations in care settings, ambulances, hospitality venues, retail environments, offices, exhibition halls and other facilities.
How quickly does AERVI begin working?
The system begins operating when the correctly sized unit is installed and powered. Manufacturer guidance recommends allowing several days for the continuous process to address pre-existing environmental contamination.
How does AERVI address both air and surfaces?
The internal treatment process acts on contaminants drawn into the unit. By repeatedly reducing microorganisms and other airborne material, fewer contaminants remain available to settle onto surrounding surfaces. Manufacturer information also describes an ionizing effect that can reduce airborne dust and debris.
Why can AERVI cost more than some alternatives?
Product positioning reflects its combination of treatment technology, construction and ongoing efficacy research. Product selection should be based on documented performance and project requirements rather than price alone.
